- Tip 1: Make an effort to post regularly and often – While, ideally, you (or someone at your law firm) should try to post to your Google+ account at least once a day, it’s a good idea to make sure to post, at minimum, once a week. Regardless of the posting schedule you choose, however, make sure that it is regular and consistent, as you don’t want to let your account idle.Another important aspect associated with posting is the fact that the more often you post to your Google+ account, the more your profile will appear with your posts. When other users find your posts interesting and hover over your name, your “hovercard” will pop up and allow these users to immediately add you to their circles. This, in turn, will increase your reach and can go a long way towards putting you in contact with new colleagues and new potential clients.
- Tip 2: Be strategic about your posts – With Google+, you will have the ability to post to your profile page or to any community to which you belong (if you don’t belong to any communities, start joining some; once you join one or two communities, Google will suggest more that may be relevant to you). If you don’t have many followers who will see the posts associated with your profile, you may want to strategically place your posts in a community where more people will be able to see and respond to them.
