- Start by adding your law firm’s contact information: Any effective email signature block should contain the basic contact information for a lawyer and his law firm. In addition to having the lawyer’s name and the name of the law firm, the signature block should include the lawyer’s email address and the law firm’s phone number. It can also be helpful and smart to include the firm’s physical address and a link to the law firm’s website (which will provide email recipients with immediate access to further information about the firm).
- Consider linking to your professional social media accounts: If you maintain a professional Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or other social media account, you may want to consider adding links to these accounts in your signature block. It’s important to point out that adding these links is NOT a good idea if the social media accounts are not strictly professional (i.e., there is personal, potentially inappropriate information posted to these accounts) and/or if you (or someone) is not regularly posting relevant and interesting blurbs to these accounts.If you have multiple professional social media accounts that you would like to include within your signature block, you may want to just include the accounts’ icons (rather than an https://… Link) to avoid cluttering the bottom of all of your emails.
