Picking up from Content Marketing Tips: How to Repurpose Content (Part 1), here are some additional tips on how you can use content you already have, rework it and generate fresh content to post on your website. By implementing these content marketing tips, you can save yourself significant effort in generating original content while also helping to boost your website’s ranking in search engines (as websites that regularly add fresh content are typically ranked better than those that have not added new content in months – or even years). When repurposing content for your website, consider:

  • Breaking down longer pieces: If you have written whitepapers or ebooks, parse out sections of the paper or book and make them into shorter content pages or blogs for your website. You can even parse down the blogs further to create interesting social media posts that link to the blogs or the original whitepaper/ebook.
  • Developing content out of webinars or videos: A good source of new content can be online webinars, videos you have developed or even interesting infographics. You can use screen shots from the webinars or videos or portions of the infographics to help illustrate your narrative and add depth to your piece. Because you have already sat through the webinar/video, writing about it should come fairly easily (as you can describe your opinion of or take on the piece).
  • Updating old blogs or content: Another way to repurpose content on your website is to take old blog posts or old content pages and give them a face lift by adding recent statistics, updates to news or issues associated with the topic, etc. While updating old content can involve going through the piece and rewording it, it can also involve adding new sections, adding an introduction or adding new keyword phrases to it.
