ATTN Attorneys: Predicated Internet Trends for 2013 (Part 2)

Mary Meeker, who has been dubbed as the “Queen of the Net” due to her uncanny ability to project future Internet trends, has made a number of predictions about the future of the Internet in 2013. In addition to predicting that the number of mobile web users and devices will continue to grow in 2013, Meeker has also stated that she believes that the use of mobile web devices, such as smartphones, iPhones, iPads and tablets, is changing the way in which users take in content, expect up-to-date content at a moment’s notice and communicate with businesses. Further predictions that Meeker has made for the Internet in 2013 include the following:

There are limitless opportunities for more interactive, real-time applications, especially with the growing potential for high-speed connectivity wherever and whenever: With a broad range of widely accepted web analytics, there is an increasing trend towards transparency and personalization in both standard and mobile website use. More specifically, due to the growing number of Internet users on an international scale, there is an increasing drive towards creating more personalized content, developing more attractive websites and keeping content as up-to-date as possible. In fact, because Internet users are able to locate what they need and want within a matter of seconds, websites that are not keeping up with consumers’ demands will likely perish.

Mobile web technology will be playing an ever-important role in the growth of other industries, such as e-commerce, gaming, marketing and advertising: This is primarily due to the fact that, as more businesses develop mobile websites, they will also need to broaden their reach with advertisers, marketing consultants and e-commerce specialists in order to grow their businesses. The bottom line is that the expected Internet and mobile web trends for 2013 will not only be changing users’ experiences but also be helping to grow a number of related industries, all of which may add a strong boost to the U.S. economy.

Perhaps, a statement made by Founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has put it best: “We think a more open and connected worlds will help create a stronger economy with more authentic businesses that build better products and services.”
